Poem in memory of my uncle

He recently passed away. It’s not directly related to him like this poem was about my grandfather, but anyway...

Sad Autumn Song

Fallen
leaf,
breeze
carrying you
in gentle circles
till you reach
the soft earth.

Memories
of your brightest
green
shine on me
with the autumn sun,
sweet summer, gone,
and after a
last burst of
gold
you fade,
a gust of wind
and you're gone,
how I yearn to reach
for you as you
drift away-
but I can only
watch as you go
down and
become one
with the roots.
