Well, now I've done it

After years of resisting, I've finally joined myspace.

At first I very much resented the whole idea of myspace because it felt too much like a high school popularity contest, and if you've read this blog long enough you should know my take on things like that. But time has passed and now it just seems like a cool way to keep up with and meet new people, get the word out on this blog/my writing and network, which could only help. And as overwhelmed as I am with comments on this blog, I'm also hoping it might be a little more of an interactive experience.

My profile is pretty basic right now, but when I get the time I'd like to spruce it up. It features an extended Enchantia snippet, and there's also a picture of me minus sunglasses. I guess I'm slowly breaking out of my shell. Though just so you know, I don't normally walk around in pigtails. That was taken at a Purim party where I was dressed as a schoolgirl. Good times…

Anyway, anyone who reads this blog is a friend of mine, so if you're on myspace I look forward to hearing from you very soon!!

Song break

I know I've totally been neglecting this blog. Don't give up on me! A real post is coming, but in the meantime I just thought I'd share my favorite Z100 tune of the moment. It's so rare to actually hear a song (at least in the realm of pop) that has some kind of positive message without being cheesy. I always turn the volume up when it comes on...

Vacation post

Here's three of my favorite snapshots from the lovely Caribbean cruise. I'm so ready to go back...

The open ocean- one of the most amazing parts of a cruise.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Doesn't this look like one of those ads for the Caribbean?

St. Maarten, snapped on horseback. Quite the view, huh? Later on, the horses went into the sea and waded. The water was almost up to my waist...it was awesome!

It was an incredible experience. Sahar and I had so much fun together, and as you just saw, it was too beautiful. And as I'd hoped it really did inspire me, with thoughts like this one, which I wrote on the first day at sea in my journal: "As I'm on this ship bound to a place I've always dreamed of going, it makes me think how the whole world is open and ready for me. If I want to accomplish something I just have to go out and do it."
